The Ghana Association of Western Australia is a non-profit organisation aiming to assist Ghanians, and by affiliation other West Africans, with issues that confront them in their day to day dealings in the community.

This is an excellent example of a Joomla website which uses many additional plugins. All working together to form a site which is visually attractive, easy to navigate and search engine friendly.

Features;

  • Fireboard. Community forum for members to discuss issues relevant to the Ghanian community. Fireboard template is a modified version of Dorona Brown customised to match our colour scheme. Click for more info...

  • Expose 4. Very nice Flash gallery component with easy to use online administration.

  • JCal Pro Events Calendar. Online events calender with a custom template. Members can submit events through the front end for inclusion in the calender (subject to Admin approval).

  • Transmenu. Smooth slide out menu system.

  • MonoSlideShow. I can't get enough of this plugin. It's not actually a Joomla plugin. But, it is very easy to add to any site. I've yet to see any slideshow with such a smooth zoom and scroll feature. Truly beautiful. The images came from istockphoto.com and dreamstime.com

  • Joomap. Automatic sitemap generator for Joomla which is compatible with Google Webmaster Tools. Great for search engin optimisation (SEO).

  • SH404SEF. Search Engine Friendly URL component. A great SEO component. Not only does it give you great URL's, it also allows you to have custom meta data for every page. Now, every page of your site can have keywords and a description related to that particular content.

  • Lightbox. Comes with JCE tools which is part of the terrific JCE editor for Joomla. Lightbox is a Javascript plugin that opens images in a popup window and fades the background to a dark grey.

  • Letterman. The best and easiest to use newsletter component for Joomla.
