According to my phone log, I spent 2 hours and 19 minutes on the phone today - all incoming calls. I also received 54 legitimate business related emails. This is a normal day.

If each of those emails consumed just 3 minutes for me to read, action them and respond where necessary, then that's another 2 hours and 42 minutes.

That's a total of 5 hours fielding calls and emails. No wonder I'm working days and nights and still falling behind.

From now on, in the spirit of productivity and better service, I'm making myself less available.

It sounds like a contradiction but it has to be done in order to get things done.

Of course, you can still contact me but you will have to leave a message. I will check my emails twice a day and my phone messages once a day.

I'm sorry if this causes problems from time to time but it has become necessary.
